Pompey travel to the Red Cherry Records stadium for their final pre-season friendly. The future of Pompey is still very much in doubt, but the trialists and free agents will be vying for a spot in Michael Appleton’s plans, should he be given the go ahead to finally build his squad.
Team News

Michael Appleton
Michael Appleton will be looking to build some semblance of continuity with his side, tonight’s starting 11 may well be his ideal team for next weeks Capital Cup tie with Plymouth.
The Pompey gaffer has indicated he would be ready to swoop once given the green light to sign players and there are plenty of free agents and trialists at the club eager to impress. Josh Thompson, Kieran Djilali, Luke Rodgers, Jack Compton, Glenn Morris and Agonit Sallaj are among those being watched closely.
Appleton will also be keen to see more of Chelsea youth player Connor Clifford, the Irishman put a decent 45-minutes in on Saturday and is keen on the move South.

Terry Brown
AFC Wimbledon gaffer Terry Brown will welcome back striker Byron Harrison, the hitman had been suffering with an ankle injury.
Brown has admitted their pre-season has been tough, the Dons shipping “too many goals” and he will surely be focusing on defensive organisation in their last game before heading into an opening league fixture against Chesterfield.
History
AFC Wimbledon and Pompey have never met before, so this will be a new experience for both sides.
Both teams will be looking to firm up their fitness and match sharpness as the competitive fixtures are right around the corner, Pompey remain in a fight for existence but another comprehensive victory as on Saturday would provide another welcome tonic and boost of optimism for the season ahead.
