Former Pompey defender, Carl Dickinson, is set to return to Fratton Park on a short-term loan-deal.
The Watford defender joined Pompey on a one-year loan during the 2010/11 season from then parent club Stoke City. The 25-year-old was keen to join Pompey on a permanent deal at the end of the season, but then manager Steve Cotterill wasn’t as enthusiastic as Dicko.
We spoke to Dicko at the end of the 2010/11 season when he told us: “Honestly I’d love to come back, but I don’t think the manager really wants me.” Dickinson then went on to join Watford, where he made 46 appearances to date.
However, Dicko has now been granted his wish and he is set to join Pompey on a one-month loan-deal from Watford after training with the Pompey squad on Monday.
Dickinson won over Pompey fans after a shaky start, his die-hard attitude and passionate battle-cries towards the Fratton End went down a treat and it is now thought that the passionate defender will be available in time to play Stevenage on Tuesday evening.
